A stroll down Founders Street (Rehov Hameysdim in Hebrew) in Zichron Ya’acov is great fun.
The colony was established in 1882 and was the third colony of the First Aliyah people. A section of the street has been preserved and renovated. You will find a charming combination of past and present: historic houses with signage explaining their role in history and signs and pictures along the street that reinforce the town’s historical importance. The home of the famous Aaronson family and the big bureaucracy have been converted into museums. They tell the story of the area and its people at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century: the difficulties and achievements of the locals.
Alongside the past, the present is here with all its glory - small and charming shops of clothes, jewelry, household items, cafes, and restaurants.
After the tour, shopping and history lesson you can drive to one of the beautiful beaches of the area that are only a short drive away.
Enjoy 🤗
